It is a comparable compact sport sedan with the Lexus reputation for dependability, and the significant update in 2021 puts it ahead of its rivals. The IS is now sportier and more enjoyable to ride than ever before, but it also makes a fantastic daily companion thanks to its exceptional ride quality and quiet cabin.
For 2024, Lexus has made some subtle changes to the exterior. There’s a new Special Look package that combines cement gray paint with a black roof, black hood, and 19-inch Enkei black wheels. There’s also a new F Sport Design trim level that serves as a new entry point to the IS 350 lineup. Essentially, it looks like a full F Sport trim but lacks access to trim level performance-enhancing goodies like LSD or adaptive suspension.

However, IS is built on an 8-year-old platform, and there are a few key areas where it shows its age. 2024 Lexus IS 350 Engine
The Lexus IS 350 F Sport is a fun and agile sports sedan let down by a less powerful engine. In Edmunds testing, our rear-wheel drive test car accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. That’s nowhere near as fast as the class leaders, even the base four-cylinder variant. On the bright side, the naturally aspirated V6 is silky smooth and produces power evenly from idle to redline. The transmission changes gears a lot, but at least it’s quick and smooth.
The IS’s steering, brakes, and overall control are more impressive than the machine. This luxury sedan is sporty and agile, with responsive steering and a suspension stiff enough to keep the car steady without feeling so stiff that a bump in the middle of the road bothers it. Our test car included an optional adaptive suspension and limited-slip differential, both necessary options if you want to increase the sportiness of your IS 350.

The interior has a few updates for 2021, most notably on the infotainment system. The insidious touchpad is still there, but you can avoid it entirely with a touchscreen. The general user interface is the same, but it’s easier to navigate through the onscreen menus. Fortunately, 2024 Lexus IS 350 left the physical controls for the climate and media system intact.
The internal relay has several disadvantages. The driving position is excellent, with good all-round visibility and easy-to-reach controls, but the back seat remains one of the smallest in its class. Getting in and out is a strain for adults, and passengers approaching 6 feet in height will find it cramped.
The infotainment system uses a touchscreen interface, so controlling features like audio, navigation, or standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is relatively easy. The IS also features voice commands, though they are limited compared to some competing systems.
The IS is equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver aids, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic spotlights. Blind spot warnings are also standard. This is a great feature set, but the operation is not as good as the class leader. For example, adaptive rapid response is slow and leaves a large gap between you and the vehicle in front.

At $53,875 when tested, it’s well priced for what you get. Performance add-ons aside, the 2024 Lexus IS 350 is packed with all the features one could want for everyday driving — Lexus even added a rear-window glass option this year, and of course this concept car is available.
