2024 Ford F150 Lighting. There’s little doubt that pickup trucks will eventually have to stop using their internal combustion engines as we move closer to the era of all-electricity. We anticipate that one of the first models will be the mid-size pickup vehicle. Of course, we believe the Ranger will get an all-electric drivetrain first among vehicles in its class. This is already done by the full-size F-150, and we’re using the same design strategy. Recent reports indicate that the new model may appear next year, as the 2024 Ford Ranger Lightning.
For now, the officials are still silent about it, so we can only speculate about the design and features. However, we assume that Ford engineers will take the same approach as in the case of the all-electric F-150. So, the standard Ranger should be the basis, but things will be very different, whether it be the technical or aesthetic aspects of the car.
2024 Ford F150 Lighting Redesign
Of course, the first thing to talk about is the basic design. We assume the 2024 Ford Ranger Lightning will be based on the standard Ranger, which will get a complete redesign. So the electric iteration will have to implement a lot of design solutions, although things will undoubtedly be different, too. When we talk about the exterior design, we expect similar dimensions. Keep in mind that the next generation of the ICE Ranger will retain the same dimensions as the previous model. For reference, the current Ranger is a good 75.2 inches wide, 211.4 inches long, and 74.2 inches tall.
On the other hand, we expect a completely different design approach for the 2024 Ford Ranger Lightning. While it may feature the same silhouette as the petrol model, the design will accentuate its all-electric nature. We’re taking the same approach as in the case of the F-150, so you can count on a lot of futuristic lighting elements, exclusive wheels, and so on.

In contrast to the exterior, the interior may not differ much. Instead, we expect to see a dashboard that looks more like the standard model, which will get a new design next year. We are counting on a lot of improvements compared to the previous generation, while the 2024 Ford Ranger Lightning may come with some exclusive details, such as color scheme, instrument cluster, and so on.
We expect the all-electric Ranger to be available in a crew cab layout, so we’re banking on multiple rows of roomy, comfortable seating. Given that the battery will be located underground, we don’t expect any compromises in terms of leg and head room.
2024 Ford F150 Lighting Powertrain Specification
2024 Ford F150 Lighting will also come in two or more versions. We assume that even the base version will come with a twin engine. Of course, its maximum output will be much lower than that of the F-150, which is available in either 452 or 580 horsepower. While it’s too early to talk about numbers, we’re assuming the base version will be good for around 300-350 horsepower.
Same thing with batteries. We assume that two variants will be presented. The standard model should be able to go about 250 miles on a single charge, while the extended range version should be able to go over 300 miles on a single charge.

We believe that the 2024 Ford F150 Lighting may arrive in the second half of next year. Some sources estimate the starting price at around $35,000. When it comes to the competition, we know Toyota is working on an all-electric Tacoma, while Chevy should also come up with a Colorado EV. However, it is still not known when these two models will be ready for production.

2024 Ford F150 Lighting Update
It seems like every time we turn our heads, the Ford F-150 looks different. He changes his style like a pre-teen in high school. One day something like Crocs came along, and then they were out! But luckily, we’re here to help you stay connected. Find out what to expect with the 2024 Ford F-150.
The 2024 Ford F-150 will be refreshed mid-cycle. This may include changing headlights, taillights, lamps, grille, wheels, and a new interior. Additionally, the truck could get some tech upgrades, such as a new digital instrument cluster and infotainment system as well. But doesn’t that feel a little fast? The Ford F-150 was just redesigned for the 2021 model year. The Ram 150 is built for the 2019 model year and has yet to be refreshed mid-cycle. Apparently, the F-150 is moving faster.
Incidentally, the 2024 F-150 was spotted being tested near Dearborn, Michigan. She’s wearing a disguise, but some spy shots still provide clues about the new look. The front and rear ends are covered, so we can speculate on new designs for the front bumper, grille, headlamps, tailgate, handle and taillights. Rumor has it that the F-150 will have C-shaped headlights to match the Ford Maverick minivan.
Will the 2024 F-150 Have New Features?
According to Ford, the 2024 Ford F-150 could get a new multifunction tailgate similar to the setup included with the Ram 1500 or GMC Sierra 1500. Ford patented a multifunction tailgate in January. The Ram 1500’s rear tailgate allows you to be closer to the bed when loading cargo. Or it can have built-in racks, steps, and extenders like the GMC Sierra 1500 tailgate.
Those watching may be able to see EPA’s exhaust tip under the rear bumper. Perhaps this means the F-15 gets new settings to be more fuel efficient. With its current 2.7-liter V6, the F-150 gets an EPA estimate of 20 mpg city and up to 26 mpg highway. The F-150 Hybrid gets an EPA rating of 25 mpg city and highway.
There is a bit of blur covering the center mound and the dash. This may indicate that the 2024 F-150 gets a new design. There will likely be a new infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. Some critics suspect that Ford Sync 4 will be replaced by Google. We’re not happy with this idea because Ford Sync is fast and intuitive.
Maybe, but there’s no official word on powertrain options for the 2024 Ford F-150 being launched. There are currently five engines to choose from, so some options could be dropped, replaced, or tuned differently. The standard 3.3-liter V6 gets the party started with 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, while the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 makes 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque for the Ford F-150 Raptor R.

2024 Ford F150 Lighting Rumor
The 2024 Ford F-150 was caught testing near Dearborn, Michigan, and we have the first photos that show what will be new in the truck. A fresh version of the full-size truck released in 2021, the 2024 F-150 showcases upcoming changes to the front fascia, grille, and front/rear bumpers as well as an all-new tailgate.
The 2021 F150 debuted in June 2020 with an all-new look, and now it’s time again (right after the new Tundra). Taking a look at the 2024 F-150, we can see that it will have a revised front fascia with new headlights, grille and front fascia. At the rear, the F150 should feature a revised tailgate (with optional multi-purpose features), bumper, and taillights. Inside, we’re also expecting updates to the gauge cluster and mid-stack.
Power is expected to come from a series of 4 engines, but it is not known if there will be a performance increase.
This information makes sense considering the 2023 Ford Super Duty lineup of trucks just got new bumper steps and side steps near the cab for easier access to the bed. These elements are found in General Motors trucks, and Ford has borrowed some of these ideas to improve their trucks. Another improvement could be the multi-purpose tailgate. There were rumors online of various tailgate patents using separate Ram-like Dutch door setups, GM-like multi-fold setups, or even a detachable rack option.
Inside the cabin, the question is whether Ford continues the current horizontal infotainment display or changes to reflect the F-150 Lightning with a vertical display. Also, the driver’s gauge cluster could see some revisions and Ford might drop the analog gauges for all trims except for the Work Truck. Currently, the bottom edges see a combination of analog or digital displays and/or column or console shifters as well.
Seeing this truck come out of testing, we knew a new model was coming soon. Usually, when we see spy photos, it’s an indication that the engineering and design work is mostly done, and Ford engineers are doing final validation testing on new features and design changes.
