2023 Subaru Outback The Reviews
2023 Subaru Outback. The latest generation of Subaru’s iconic wagons has been on the market for quite some time, and if you’re familiar with the company’s manufacturing cycle, you’ll know exactly what to anticipate from next year’s model. The Subaru Outback 2023 will be in its fourth year of production, which is when the Japanese manufacturer generally introduces changes. This model is no exception, therefore we’re expecting a mid-cycle revision.
As usual, Subaru will only make minor changes, we think. We rely on some reviews regarding the design, as well as some modifications regarding the interior, standard features, etc. Other than that, everything should remain the same. So you can count on a vehicle that offers plenty of room for passengers and cargo, quiet handling, plenty of standard equipment, and a high level of overall versatility. Given the expected updates, we assume that the Subaru Outback 2023 will arrive a little earlier than usual, but still in the second half of 2022.
2023 Subaru Outback Redesign
As we just mentioned, the Subaru Outback 2023 will receive a facelift. We expect nothing but minor changes and most of them should be upfront. We can see some changes to the grille and bumper, but the overall look will remain largely the same. Of course, there is always a chance to see minor updates such as new color options, wheels, etc.
However, the overall layout will remain the same. We’ll take a look at the familiar overall design, which is based on Subaru’s new modular platform, which offers an excellent balance between comfort and precision handling. Of course, all-wheel drive comes standard and provides extra grip in all conditions.

2023 Subaru Outback Interior Rumors
No larger internal changes should occur. Of course, there are always opportunities for customization regarding materials, color schemes, etc. However, the overall design of the cabin will remain the same. This cabin already looks very good. We love the materials as well as the build quality. Also, there are many technological features that have a very positive effect on aesthetics.
Apart from the good build quality, we also like the practicality and the high level of functionality. These had always been the strongest points in the hinterland and the current generation was no exception. There are two rows of very spacious seating that can easily accommodate adults. We also love the front chairs, they are large and supportive. The elevated driving position, combined with the large glass surface, provides good visibility in all directions.
The charging area is impressive. You can count on about 32.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and a total of 75.7 cubic feet. By comparison, that’s more than you’d get from a compact SUV like the Toyota RAV4.
Novelty in this aspect is always possible, but the current model already looks good, so we are not sure that many improvements can be made. Current models come standard with good things like automatic climate control, keyless entry, dual 7-inch touchscreens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB ports, HD radio, satellite radio, and a four-speaker stereo . On the higher bezels, you get upgrades like an 11.6-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, two additional USB ports, speaker stereo, 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, keyless entry, push-button start, and a zone Dual automatic climate control and sunroof.
Among the standard safety features, you can find such items as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and constant lane assist. Also, there are improvements like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking, driver distraction monitoring, and a front-view camera.
2023 Subaru Outback Powertrain Specification
The 2023 Subaru Outback will continue with some familiar powertrain options on offer. The base model uses a 2.5-liter flat-cylinder engine that produces about 182 horsepower. This version is not very fast but it gets the job done. If you’re looking for really powerful performance, you can opt for the 2.4-liter turbocharged four, which is good for around 260 horsepower.
Both engines are mated to a CVT gearbox, while all-wheel drive is standard, of course. The base engine produces about 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, which is impressive for this segment. The Turbo-four is thirstier and returns about 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
2023 Subaru Outback Release date
We expect the 2023 Subaru Outback to hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022. The base model will sell for around $27,000.

2022 Subaru Outback News
Subaru’s premium SUV lineup has undergone revisions in recent model years, and an all-new mid-size Outback has arrived for the 2020 season. The 2021 version is on sale with a few additional standard features. A 2022 Subaru Outback is also expected with some changes in equipment availability and some new features. There is no indication that Subaru is preparing anything significant for the popular Outback. As usual, the Outback should receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2023 season while the new model will come after five model years down the road.
The midsize Subaru Outback scored highly in all-weather and above-average off-road conditions. The model is also smooth and comfortable. The cabin is spacious and loaded with many technological features. Buyers can also choose between two four-cylinder Boxer engines, one of which is turbocharged. This model is also equipped with a standard set of active safety systems and a standard all-wheel drive system.
Outback Subaru 2022: Design
After the recent transition to the sixth generation, the 2022 Subaru Outback won’t come with any notable structural or visual upgrades for the third year down the road. The current generation Outback shifts to the new Subaru Global platform while receiving evolutionary design tweaks. The new platform features a stiffer, lighter design that has been optimized for alternative powertrains including hybrid and full electric setups.
From a visual perspective, the Outback is a solid model that looks more like a wagon than a true SUV. The recent redesign brings evolutionary design improvements with the same shape and tread. This model uses the brand’s familiar grille pattern along with the eagle eye headlights. The profile of the model has a similar shape and panel to the version of the previous generation. The back also includes elements of the brand’s new style.

Interior And Equipment:
The cabin of the 2022 Subaru Outback will also not receive any significant upgrades. The Subaru Outback has a comfortable cabin packed with modern technology and is available in a variety of material styles. The front seats provide great comfort and are equipped with many adjustments. The back row also provides ample head and leg room. Load capacity is up to 75 cubic feet or 32.5 cubic feet for cargo behind the rear seats.
On the equipment level, the base Outback will offer keyless entry, LED headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, Apple Car Playa and Android Auto, and a standard safety suite. Each remote zone relies on adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
The next-level decor is enhanced by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a large 11.6-inch center screen, etc. Options include blind spot warning with rear cross traffic warning, navigation, power liftgate, etc. The advanced version converts to leather seats and adds features such as rear air vents, heated steering wheel, premium audio system, etc. The Touring version comes with unique leather seats with contrast stitching, ventilated front seats, and more.
Outback Subaru 2022: Performance
The 2022 Subaru Forester will return with a pair of four-cylinder engines and standard all-wheel drive. Each version also gets a continuously variable transmission. A 2.5-liter, non-turbo four-cylinder boxer engine mixed with CVT and standard all-wheel drive produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can switch to a 2.4-liter flat-mounted turbocharged unit with 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
On the efficiency level, the basic non-turbocharged powertrain should still be close to the current EPA rating. The model should return 26 mpg in the city, 33 on the highway, and 29 combined. With the turbocharged engine under the hood, the model should register about 23 mpg in the city, 30 on the highway and 26 combined. The Subaru Outback is a candidate for a plug-in hybrid or plug-in hybrid setup but there’s no sign yet on when a version with an electric powertrain will appear.
2022 Subaru Outback: Edition And Price
The 2022 Subaru Outback should follow the brand’s usual release routine and arrive in fall 2021. The price range should stay close to current with eventual price cuts. Buyers can get the current version starting at $26,795, and the higher-spec model closes the price at $40,000. The Subaru Off-Road Vehicle is an alternative to models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer or Volvo Xc90 and V60.
