2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. The iconic Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class 2023 was tested with a highly covered body for the first time this year. The spy images show that Mercedes-next Benz’s generation GLC looks considerably better, and it will receive a mid-cycle facelift next year.

Besides the beautiful design, this SUV appears to be growing slightly, probably like the recently launched GLB class. However, the upcoming GLC class will still be in the small crossover segment. In fact, there are several popular models in this segment, and the GLC is set to do battle with the likes of the Audi Q5, Acura RDX, BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and the upcoming Genesis GV80.

New spy shots reveal a modest upgrade in outward appearance. The proportions have been changed slightly, and the GLC-class looks larger thanks to an updated version of Mercedes’ MHA (High Quality Architecture) platform. If you didn’t know, the same platform supports the current Class C.

However, in the new GLC that Mercedes is claiming, some modifications have been made, and the platform is lighter, mainly through the increased use of aluminum over steel. We also noticed that the hood appeared to be stretched, and the roofline appeared to be lowered somehow. The rear of this SUV looks more elegant and sporty compared to the previous model.

Inside, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class looks very modern. This SUV borrows the same dashboard and cockpit layout as the GLE class SUV. Thanks to it, the new generation of the GLS looks much more modern than the one it replaces. As before, the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class can seat up to seven passengers, providing ample space in the first and second rows. Also, the third row can accommodate an adult without much complaint.

In terms of technology, this model is rich in technology. It comes with two huge 12.3-inch digital screens, powered by the latest Mercedes-Benz MBUX software. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities are standard, as are in-dash navigation and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Powertrain Specification

Under the hood, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC 2023 will continue to be powered by the same engines as its predecessor. This model uses a 2.0-liter inline engine with a turbocharger 4 that produces 255 horsepower. Above that is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 (GLC 43) capable of 385 horsepower. A bi-turbo V8 with two different outputs is also available under the bonnet of the GLC-Class.

The AMG GLC 63 is the first to use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 469 hp, while the AMG GLC 63 S delivers 503 hp. All of the above units come with a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is said to arrive next year, and features moderate upgrades. The latest spy footage is available, and it goes perfectly with that. First, we noticed that the GLC is relatively larger compared to the previous model, and has a more attractive front end. We’ve also heard that the next generation will get a cabin that’s more comfortable and packed with the latest technology.

We don’t have official pricing data at this time, but since it’s a carryover model, we expect it to be similar as before. The current base GLC 300 should start at around $44,000, while the AMG GLC 43 is around $60,000. The most expensive GMC GLC 63 S starts at $80,000. As you may have noticed, the GLC class is a bit pricey for this segment. Its cost is comparable to its largest German competitors such as the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Update

With the introduction of the new C-Class in sedan and wagon models, Mercedes is now putting the finishing touches on its equivalent crossover. The revamped GLC will apparently break cover on June 1, according to a German report by MB Passion. The same source also provides some interesting tidbits about the technical specs, including steering the rear wheels at a maximum angle of 4.5 degrees. It will reduce the turning circle to 10.8 meters (35.4 feet).

Additionally, we learn that the GLC will grow to 4.72 meters (185.8 inches) in length while the outgoing model is 4.65 meters (183.3 inches) tall. The wheelbase of the compact crossover will extend by 15 mm (0.6 in) and cargo capacity will grow by 50 liters to 600 liters (21.1 cubic feet).

To no one’s surprise, the GLC will mainly carry the high-tech cabin of the C-Class, but the screen will be positioned a little higher. The extended wheelbase will open up additional legroom for rear passengers compared to the previous model, which also applies to sedans and wagons.

According to the same source, Mercedes will launch the GLC in Europe with a 48-volt combustion engine, mild hybrid technology and a 23-horsepower electric motor. There are plans for three electric hybrids, two with petrol (300e and 400e) and one diesel (300de). All will have 4Matic all-wheel drive as standard and an electric range of more than 62 miles (100 km) on the WLTP cycle. Owners will be able to increase the PHEV battery up to 60 kW.

Unlike the C-Class with a four-cylinder lineup, the GLC will still offer six-cylinder power. It will be an oil burner codenamed OM 656M and will produce more than 300 horsepower. As for the quad bike, petrol units will be available with 204 hp and 258 hp, while the diesel engines will be 194 hp and 265 hp.

After its world premiere on June 1, the new Mercedes GLC will go on sale in Europe in September. The US version is expected to arrive at a later date. Moreover, spy footage revealed the release of two versions of AMG. We’ll have to learn more about the Hot Edition in the coming months when the C-Class gets the “53” and “63” treatments.

According to Car and Driver, “It will follow a more powerful AMG variant and may use the same four-cylinder hybrid powertrain expected for the C43 and C63 AMG, with the latter expected to produce more than 500 horsepower.” Also, in the US, the GLC will offer at least one hybrid version.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed images of a convincing prototype of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Class 2023 SUV that has undergone winter testing in Argeblog, Sweden. We don’t have a clear view of the new design with the camouflage casing. However, the GLC 2023 appears to be larger than the GLC 2022, with a wider appearance and larger rear fender. Additional exterior styling features include a larger front grille, raised window lines, streamlined headlights and taillights, and five-spoke alloy wheels in a triangular design.

Interior pictures of the GLC 2023 are not available. However, the GLC’s dashboard and cabin will likely look very similar to the C-Class. Mercedes-Benz also says the GLC will feature “a new steering wheel, the latest MBUX infotainment software, and large displays including a 12.3-inch instrument panel and infotainment screen.” 11.9″ centerpiece.

In addition, the GLC will make improvements to its driving assistance technology. This includes a new surround-view camera system, augmented reality navigation, and a new active steering assist system that can operate at higher speeds.
