2023 BMW X5 Update

BMW has been spotted testing a prototype of the updated X5 that will hit the market soon. The update associated with the popular mid-size SUV will be a mid-cycle update to the current fourth-generation X5 that arrived in 2018 as a 2019 model. Look for an updated version that arrives in 2022 as the 2023 model. It should arrive alongside an updated version of the X6.

Modifications to the exterior will be light, based on the prototype. Look out for the new interior with revised headlights, front and rear bumpers. The interior is also likely to feature several updates, including perhaps a more sophisticated infotainment system with a larger screen similar to what we saw in the iX electric crossover.

It’s not clear what is planned for the powertrain but more power and the addition of mild hybrid technology is expected. In the US, the X5 is offered with a choice of either a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine or a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8. The Inline-6 ​​is available as a plug-in hybrid while the V-8 can be had in the X5 M that produces 600 hp in the standard trim and 617 hp in the X5 M Competition.
