2023 BMW iX1. BMW has been pretty active recently when it comes to producing electric vehicles. According to our information, the German automaker will unveil several new vehicles at the next event, including the all-new BMW iX1 2023 electric SUV and its flagship i7 electric sedan.

The iX1 electric battery will be officially launched later this year, and it has a very modern design. New teasers show off similar design cues seen in the recently introduced BMW iX3. The upcoming iX1 features a blue identical closed grille throughout, and very attractive bumper accents in the same color and shape as the headlights. The model of concern will likely feature the BMW M Sport package.

2023 BMW iX1 Redesign

The third generation of the BMW X1 will arrive this year, powered by the new FAAR modular multi-energy platform. As far as we know, the platform is designed to be compatible with internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and all-electrics. We’ve also heard that the next-generation X1 could be much larger than the current model, which means it’s likely to be close to 4.70 meters or 185.0 inches in length.

The newly released teaser shows the upcoming SUV with a very attractive design and double-edged headlights. We also see the large C-shaped side air intakes just below the headlights. The new closed kidney grille comes with blue accents as well, giving the SUV a tough look.

2023 BMW iX1 Interior Rumors

Like the BMW X1, the new 2023 BMW iX1 model will have a modern and comfortable cabin. Fortunately, spy shots of the interior are available, revealing a curved, floating screen and a single wide air conditioning hole below the center display. In general, this is very strange considering that all BMWs traditionally have two small AC outlets. In addition, the new iX1 also comes with a more advanced display and HUD compared to the iX3 model.

2023 BMW iX1 Powertrain Specification

The manufacturer has not revealed any information about the BMW iX1 2023 engine. As far as we know, the new SUV should be battery powered. It will also feature an all-new platform. Regardless, the only information officially coming from BMW is that the iX1 will have a driving range of 257-272 miles (413-438 km).

Therefore, we expect the BMW iX1 to feature the same 400-volt system as the current electric Beamer. The BMW Group is also working on a new 800-volt battery system, which will be implemented in the 2025 model.

2023 BMW iX1 Release date

The new all-electric 2023 BMW iX1 battery-powered vehicle will be launched later this year. We expect this model to go on sale in the first quarter of 2023 (January-March 2023), featuring the FAAR multi-power platform. This platform is designed, as we’ve said, to be compatible with internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and all-electrics.

The price of the iX1 is estimated at 54,000 euros or more in the European market. Unfortunately, there are no plans for an iX1 release in the US. The Tesla Model Y, Volvo XC40 Recharge and Mercedes EQB are the closest competitors to the new iX1.

2023 BMW iX1 Update

BMW is developing a restyled X1 compact crossover and the latest prototype is a battery-electric version. BMW Group CEO Oliver Zipps confirmed plans for an electric X1 last summer, as well as a 5-Series electric car. The electric X1 should be called the iX1, according to naming practices established by the iX3, the electric version of the X3 is currently sold overseas.

We know that the prototype is for an electric vehicle because of the “Electric Vehicle Test” sticker you’re wearing. The FAAR platform is an update to the existing UKL platform that supports the current X1. The biggest change is the battery-powered powertrain option. It’s unclear what powertrain BMW has in the iX1. It is likely that there will be a basic option with a single electric motor and a more powerful option with two engines that make up the all-wheel drive system. Expect a range of at least 250 miles for all variants.

The redesigned BMW X1 is expected to go on sale in 2022 as a 2023 model. The iX1 will arrive around the same time. A performance model with an internal combustion engine, known as the X1 M35i, was also tested.

It’s one of 13 electric vehicles the BMW Group will have by the end of 2023. Others include the Mini Cooper SE, the aforementioned iX3, and the new i4 and iX launched in 2022. But there’s more in the works including an electric version of the 3-Series, 5-Series, 7-Series. It is also rumored that the 1 electric series.

2023 BMW iX1 Rumor

The BMW iX1 2023 will enter production in November 2022 and will join BMW’s new family of electric SUVs. We expect the new generation BMW X1 to be launched this year and to be the basis for the iX1 electric model. Based on the same FAAR flexible front-wheel drive architecture, the iX1 will feature BMW’s fifth-generation eDrives, similar to the iX3. That would give it a battery pack of 74-80 kWh and 270 hp that gets sent to all four wheels on the BMW iX1 xDrive30.

There are also rumors that the BMW iX1 eDrive20 will have a single electric motor that will send power to the front wheels. You could get a MINI Electric powertrain, with a 32.6 kWh battery and a single 181 hp motor. The cheapest money-buy version has a range of at least 124 miles (200 km), based on the WLTP cycle. Choosing a larger iX3-sourced battery can provide enough power to cover a distance of at least 249 miles (400 km).

As a recent spy photo revealed, the BMW iX1 will likely look almost identical to the standard X1, with the iX3 looking almost identical to the standard X3. There will likely be some blue trim, maybe some pneumatic wheels, and a blank front grille. Those things aside, it would be hard to tell the iX1 apart from the standard X1 without really taking a close look. The new X1 and iX1 will have a new set of taillights, which feature the L-shaped LEDs we’ve seen in other cars as well, while the front has a much larger grille than the outgoing model, with slimmer headlights.

In addition to the new look, the iX1’s interior is no less interesting. There are rumors of an 8.0 operating system that includes a new screen setup. In the future, it will be adopted by all BMW models and it looks like the upcoming X1 and iX1 will be the first to get it, based on the latest spy footage of the compact SUV. The current X1 is a great all-inclusive package for BMW enthusiasts with young families; Very enjoyable to drive, functional, comfortable and sporty-looking cabin. If the next generation X1 improves all of these traits and the BMW iX1 just adds electricity, it should be a home run.
