The upcoming 2022 Volkswagen ID.6 engine will arrive on the market. This model will be the first to reach dealers in China under the name “ID.6 X”. This model is easy to define as it follows in the footsteps of the ID.4 variable. ID.6, however, comes with a bigger look and a slightly different front.

It is a fully electric seven-passenger crossover. And while we know many things, some parts, such as the interior design, remain a mystery. On the other hand, performance specifications are available along with some other things. Sales will start later this year according to the latest reports.

2022 Volkswagen ID.6 Distinctive exterior design

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Technology has unveiled a new model. The 2022 Volkswagen ID.6 will also arrive in the United States. The two forms should be roughly the same. The first details demonstrate the same design language that we can see in the ID.4 variant. However, ID.6 does come with larger headlights and a modified front end.

This crossover carries a dummy entry, while the ID.4 model does not. The background is also the same, but the taillights and the rear window are a bit larger as well. Additionally, ID.6 has a flatter waistline. The crossover also shows off its plastic body trim, comfortable door handles and a sloping roofline.

2022 Volkswagen ID.6 dimensions

According to leaked documents, the new 2022 Volkswagen ID.6 engine will be 192 inches long. The wheelbase measures 116.7 inches. Thanks to that, the ID.6 is about 11.5 inches longer than the current ID.4 variant. In addition, the wheelbase is 7.8 cm long. Thanks to this, Volkswagen has created a spacious SUV with three rows of seats and room for seven people. We can say that the ID.6 is a family-friendly seven-seater SUV.

2022 Volkswagen ID.6 Power, range and charging

As far as we know, the new 2022 Volkswagen ID.6 will use an electric motor that generates 200 hp. This isn’t a big surprise since the ID.4 model uses the same rear engine / alternator. However, the ID.6 SUV will definitely offer an all-wheel drive variant with a dual-drive setup. Total power is estimated at 302 hp. Battery capacity has not been announced. However, it will be the same 82 kWh battery pack that provides 400 km of driving range in the ID.4 version.

ID.6, of course, offers less range due to its size. This model will use the same MEB platform. The build allows for fast charging, so you can charge your crossover from 0 to 80% in about half an hour. We don’t know how many trim levels Volkswagen is planning to offer, but more details will be available in the coming weeks.

2022 Volkswagen ID.6 release date and price

The German manufacturer will introduce its all-electric crossover SUV later this year. Most likely, sales will start in the last quarter of 2021 and the price will definitely start at $ 50,000 or higher.

This model will first appear with merchants in China before it becomes available in the United States. The German manufacturer will soon announce official details, and the interior is a complete mystery for the time being.
