The new Outlander gets a new dynamic grille, fog lights and headlights. The headlights are thinner than before and finish differently.

Everything looks very modern, including new exterior features like wheels. The next-generation model will introduce new exterior paints and some things will be borrowed from the Engelberg Tourer concept. Finally, the new Outlander will have the same new Nissan Rogue platform. Thanks to that, we expect small dimensional changes.

2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Interior updates

Inside, the new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander will present interesting updates. All trim levels can seat seven passengers, except for the PHEV model which offers five seats. Whichever version you choose, the Outlander offers more than enough interior space, especially up front. Folding the rear seats gives you approximately 63 cubic feet of loadspace, which is great.

The Outlander is available in ES, SE, LE, SEL and GT trim levels. If you want a hybrid powertrain, you should opt for the SEL or GT variants. The base trim comes with more standard features, a new infotainment system, rearview camera and automatic dual-zone climate control.

2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Engine Joins Outlander PHEV

From what we’ve heard, this SUV has a lot more power. Thanks to an all-new engine that delivers a 13 percent improvement. It’s a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that also powers the new Nissan Rogue. This engine generates up to 188 hp. However, we don’t know if these four cylinders will provide the same power as the Outlander SUV.

The aforementioned hybrid powertrain is still the best possible output you can get. It’s a combination of a 2.4-liter engine and a hybrid setup. For 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi can also borrow the same configuration from the Rogue PHEV Edition.

2022 Mitsubishi Outlander release date, price

The next generation 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander will arrive at dealerships in the second half of 2021. In addition, this SUV could arrive earlier if the Coronavirus pandemic ends in the coming months.

Pricing starts around $ 26,000, and a hybrid variant costs around $ 35,000. As before, the Outlander SUV will compete with models such as the Ford Edge, Chevy Blazer and Hyundai Santa Fe.
