The upcoming 2022 Kia Niro is a very popular model and we can call it a huge success for the manufacturer. And while the Niro doesn’t look flashy and premium, it comes at an affordable price. 2022 Kia Niro Specifications

2021 Kia Niro Hybrid

2021 KIA Niro Hybrid Engine

A 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a six-clutch electric drive team with a dual-speed automatic transmission on a non-hybrid Niro. However, we did notice an unusual level of noise entering the cab when driving on a bumpy road. Nero’s response routing is fast and accurate. The steering wheel has no dead zones and the car goes straight on the highway. Indeed, steady steering force increases when using Sport mode.

The Plug-In Hybrid has an electric range of just 26 miles, and the all-electric models come with a 64 kWh battery and up to 239 miles of total range.

KIA improved the Niro’s aerodynamic efficiency through 2021 by attaching a grille window close to 35 mph to facilitate airflow through the short nose. The KIA infotainment system uses a touch screen with a hard button. The system is intuitive and simple, and KIA is gaining fame by offering standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Base Niros has received many infotainment elements other than smartphone connectivity and SiriusXM compatibility. The optional navigation system uses GPS data to predict energy needs and save battery power, for example, while waiting for a hill climb.

2021 KIA Niro Hybrid Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not tested the Niro, but the Insurance Agency for Highway Safety (IIHS) has tested both hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. The former was awarded a Top Safety Pick + rating for the latter, although the headlights score poorly on the IIHS test. Kia and its sister company Hyundai offer one of the most comprehensive vehicle warranties available. The 10-year powertrain warranty is key, but KIA outperforms the competition in nearly all areas. All that is missing is the free scheduled maintenance, which Chevrolet offers only in this category.
