First, the new model looks attractive and we like what the manufacturer has done with its wheels which look stylish and big. Also, GMC will stick with a proven engine. It will use the same 3.6L V-6 engine also available on the GMC Canyon model.

After reviving the GMC Hummer pickup, the manufacturer revealed that it is working on a new off-roader called the 2022 GMC Jimmy. According to the latest news, the new model could be General Motors’ answer to the popular Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco. This off-road SUV will be built on the famous frame-on-frame architecture and will ride on the platform of General Motors’ midsize trucks. If you didn’t know, the same platform supports Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups.

At first glance, the front Jimmy looks exactly the same as the Acadia. Of course it has its own unique identity and the difference is visible first in the headlights. It also has a slightly slimmer grille and large GMC lettering in the center.

2022 GMC Jimmy interior will be modern

The 2022 GMC Jimmy truck is a compact SUV with an ultra-modern cabin. This model should have two rows of seats and can comfortably accommodate five passengers.

Many believe that this model will have the same design and technology as the latest Acadia. When that happens, we can expect entry-level three-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, keyless ignition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and five USB ports. Furthermore, we assume it will include the GMC Pro Safety Plus package. This package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, as well as Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning.

2022 GMC Jimmy Engine Performance

The new 2022 GMC Jimmy will use one of Canyon’s engines. The upcoming model will likely be available with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque under the Canyon truck. According to the information on the car and driver’s website, this unit will use the same 8-speed automatic transmission. However, we should mention that it is not yet clear whether the numbers will be the same as those in the Canyon model.

At this time, GMC has not released any information regarding the release date and pricing for this off-road vehicle. However, many popular websites have written that this SUV will be on sale next year. It is also rumored that the price will be around $30,000. Expect an uphill battle overall as the GMC Jimny is in the same class with models like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco.
