One of the most eye-catching crossover SUVs on the market is undoubtedly the new 2022 GMC Acadia. This three-row mid-size SUV sits between the smaller Terrain and the larger Yukon in the GMC range. After a mild update last year, we don’t expect any major change in the upcoming Acadia Edition.
Like the previous model, the new model is also offered with different trim levels. In short, they range from the entry-level SL to the luxury and favorite Denali. Depending on which trim level you choose, the new SUV offers three engine options.
2022 GMC Acadia facelift
We expect the new 2022 GMC Acadia to receive minor changes, updates and improvements. Like the previous model, the new SUV still runs on the same installed GM VSS-F platform. Basically, this platform is available on many other GM front-wheel drive and crossovers.
The current GMC Acadia has already received many novelties, including a completely new front end. However, for 2022 GMC Acadia will have the same face, but with different headlights, grille and bumper. This is why the new GMC Acadia will also continue with its attractive taillights, bumper and other details at the rear.

2022 GMC Acadia interior upgrades
Inside, the 2022 GMC Acadia will continue with the same modern styling and design. The cabin is spacious and you can count on more comfort than before. In fact, thanks to its 112.5-inch wheelbase, this crossover has three wide rows of seats. The third row of seats provides approximately 30 inches of legroom, which is enough for adult passengers.
In terms of technology, the SL’s base includes three-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch infotainment screen, keyless operation, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, Wi-Fit hotspot and five USB ports. More features can be found on top-of-the-line models like the Denali or AT4. Additionally, the safety package includes automatic emergency brakes, front and rear parking sensors, plus blind spot warning and rear crossover warning.
2022 GMC Acadia Specifications Powertrain
Under the hood, the 2022 GMC Acadia is available in three engine variants. Standard on SL and SLE is a proven 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 194 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. Next is a standard pulley on SLT. It consists of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The last and best offering is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 310 hp with 271 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on AT4 and Denali. However, all versions use a nine-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive, except for the base SL. Towing capacity on the Acadia is still a meager 1,000 pounds, but it increases to 1,500 pounds with the 2.0 Turbo and 4,000 pounds with the V6.
