2022 Dodge Hornet New Review

According to the latest news, Dodge will bring back Hornet’s board from the dead. The FCA applied trademarks of both “Hornet” and “Dodge Hornet” in the United States last year. In addition, the company did the same in Mexico and Canada. Unfortunately, this mini MPV concept was revealed in 2006, but after the 2009 financial crisis, the concept was removed from the shelves. However, according to the latest reports, the manufacturer will bring this model back next year, and it should be called the 2022 Dodge Hornet.

First of all, the design of the upcoming 2022 Dodge Hornet is very different from the conceptual model. Basically, it comes in SUV form and can share a platform with the upcoming Alfa Tonale. However, in terms of design, it is similar to the latest Dodge Durango model.

Overall, the upcoming model will replace the current Dodge Durango. It looks more attractive, with a more sporty design thanks to a better grille, full LED headlights / daytime running lights and no less attractive black-painted wheels. We also highly doubt that the Hornet will feature the same architecture as the upcoming Wagoneer, as many believe.

2022 Dodge Hornet Interior expectations

Since the new 2022 Dodge Hornet will be based heavily on the Dodge Durango, we expect an identical interior. However, at the moment, we are not sure if this model will come in two-row or three-row form.

Besides, we have to assume a nice interior that offers much better quality than many competitors. In any case, as standard equipment, we can expect satellite radio, four USB ports, Bluetooth, additional audio input, six speakers and a 10.1-inch touch screen with navigation. Driver aids such as forward collision restriction and blind spot monitoring will likely be offered as an option.

2022 Dodge Dodge Hornet Powertrain Specifications

The FCA and PSA Group merger will allow the 2022 Dodge Hornet to use some of the existing engines that are installed. In general, the closest possibility is the entry-level Dodge Durango engines. A 3.6L V6 engine powers this popular SUV and has an excellent output of 293 horsepower. The next possibility is another agenda, a powerful V8 engine.

This unit is optional on the Durango and consists of a 5.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 360 horsepower, ideal for those who need more power and better performance. There are also rumors of hybrid systems and even PHEV systems, but there are still no comments from Dodge.
