2022 BMW X7, LCI (G07) the Reviews

Last month we saw the prototype 2022 BMW X7. The luxury SUV was captured with the camera and the first spy recordings were very promising. Reliable reports are being written about the next generation X7 SUV. The spy photos prove that we can see many important updates. For starters, the X7 SUV looks more attractive and the front has undergone the biggest changes.

In addition, the interior is also receiving various updates. This includes minor interior design improvements and more high-tech features. It is the best-selling SUV after the release of the X5. It is one of the most important models in the BMW Group. As before, the manufacturer offers three engine options.

2022 BMW X7 spied in a facelift

Spy photos are available for the 2022 BMW X7. However, the heavy camouflage completely hides some of the exterior parts, including the updates. On the other hand, some moisturizers are easy to spot. As we said, the front end gets the biggest improvements. This includes a more elongated front section and a redesigned lower bumper.

The air intakes are more prominent, and the grille gets slightly larger. The headlights have also been reconfigured, as has the rear bumper. We cannot tell if the taillights are new or modified. The most likely result is the new exterior paintwork, along with the new optional wheels.

2022 BMW X7 Interior upgrades

The upcoming 2022 BMW X7 will also introduce several interior upgrades. It is a luxurious interior design full of modern gadgets and other premium elements. We were unable to see the changes in the latest spy footage. Various reports predict that the cabin design will remain the same. In addition, the seat design does not change, so there is room for seven passengers again.

Cabin space is ample, including headroom, legroom and even cargo. This SUV offers an impressive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The BMW iDrive controller is updated, and the X7 gets more high-tech features. This usually includes various driver assistance systems.

2022 BMW X7 Performances

The new 2022 BMW X7 offers no kind of change under the hood. This means that there will be the same three options for the payment system again. The first is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine with 335 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. However, if you want more power, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 is optional and produces 456 hp. Plus, this engine delivers 480 pounds of twists and turns.

The same twin-turbo V8 is available on the M50i and is the most powerful model available. The X7 M50i comes with 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. BMW offers an eight-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters. This SUV can tow up to 7,500 pounds, which is more than enough.

2022 BMW X7 release date price

The all-new 2022 BMW X7 will arrive at dealerships in the second half of 2021. However, some reports predict that the first quarter of 2022 is a possible launch date. BMW has yet to disclose further details, including price and release date. The current X7 SUV costs $ 75,000.

Possible 2022 BMW X7 LCI (G07)

It is possible that a modernization of the seven-seat SUV will be planned for 2021. It appears that BMW has already started developing the 2022 BMW X7 LCI, as suggested in the latest spy recordings.

The X7 is BMW’s first attempt at creating a true luxury sports car to fight a rival Mercedes-Benz GLS, after years the X5 has sought to fill that role. The SUV, which was officially launched in early 2019, is due to undergo a facelift, just in time for the 2022 model year.

Judging from the spy photos, there is no clear evidence that this could be a mule to test another model, like the upcoming G09 X8, for example. Don’t be fooled by the proportions that can indicate anything smaller than the X7 standing next to the camouflaged test car – it’s just a pure optical illusion. So yes, that prototype is most likely the 2022 BMW X7 LCI.

2022 BMW X7 LCI Exterior

The test cars feature heavy-duty front and rear upholstery, designed to clearly conceal major pattern changes compared to the pre-LCI model generation.

The X7 does indeed look very good and majestic, in true BMW style, defined by the wide straight grille and slim headlights that connect to the kidneys, adding to the width and luxurious appearance of the luxury SAV.

Perhaps the only design weakness is the current design of the tail lights, which doesn’t seem to have much in common with the newer design philosophy adopted in the case of the G05 X5 and G06 X6. Additionally, it appears to be heavily inspired by the pre-LCI G11 / G12 7 series.

Curiously enough, however, the front fascia turned out to be the only title for a radical change, as evidenced by the exposed primary headlights under camouflage. At the same time, the taillights seem to have been slightly modified.

The best explanation is that the 2022 BMW X7 LCI is gearing up to welcome the new corporate face of luxury cars under the luxury sub-brand BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE, with the new generation G70 / G71 7-Series scheduled for official presentation in 2022.

In order not to risk that the luxury SAV is too outdated in terms of design, it is understandable why the X7 facelift awaits major plastic intervention. Moreover, the X7 is a 7 Series translated into SAV with that the connection between the two is strong. That is why BMW must take a unified approach to design.

Regardless of these changes, it appears that the X7 will mainly maintain its massive size and recognizable silhouette. There are also some minor changes planned for the interior and dashboard, but we have yet to see some pictures that reveal the interior of the 2022 BMW X7 LCI.

2022 BMW X7 LCI engine

We are not aware that BMW is planning anything radical or new in the powertrain for the X7 facelift generation, so don’t dream of an all-electric iX7. But the Munich-based carmaker is likely to release a plug-in hybrid version of the G07, given the brand’s accelerated electrification strategy.

Given that the future G09 X8 will produce an electrified M performance variant called the X8 M45e with higher output and improved battery capacity ensuring a greater range, the 2022 BMW X7 LCI could theoretically get the same powertrain as the future xDrive45e model.
