2022 BMW 3 Series, EV the Reviews
BMW has already laid the groundwork for the 2022 BMW 3 Series. However, the next major restyling of the standard sedan premium is scheduled for 2018, so why does BMW already see this now? Due to some drastic technical changes that make 2022 BMW 3 Series look out of date today. According to a new report by Autocar, BMW learned a lot in terms of construction and advanced powertrain capabilities thanks to the i3 and i8.
The new BMW architecture has moved from a welded steel frame and machine that drives the rear wheels through a conventional transmission, to a platform made of alloy steel, aluminum, composite and drive lines that use electric motors as the main source for drivers.
The lesson will be applied to the most popular models, starting with the 2022 BMW 3 Series. Simply put, the welded steel body and the machine driving the rear wheels with a manual gearbox are a thing of the past. Expect the bodywork to be a mixture of steel, aluminum, and many other lightweight composites.
In engines, electric motors will be the main power source, which will operate in conjunction with the large battery set and the new family of internal combustion engines that will function primarily as generators. In order to meet the strict emission standards coming from the European Union, BMW plans to manufacture all 2022 BMW 3 Series models and subsequent hybrids.
This ingredient is an assortment of squares, numbness, mess, and sticking together. It uses composite materials in strategic structural areas such as roof poles and sills, allowing the use of thin-walled steel presses, saving weight and improving stiffness.
The combustion engine will spend most of the time as a generator and operate at maximum efficiency.

2022 BMW 3 Series Features
BMW will also see improved vehicle aerodynamics, as well as display technologies related to 3D navigation that allow cars to anticipate hills and use descent to reduce energy consumption and recharge batteries. An innovative suspension system has also been planned, with a low highway ride height and an active dynamic air intake.
All these changes are strategic due to EU regulations on fuel consumption. In 2021, car manufacturers were required to achieve CO2 emissions on a fleet of 95 g / km, with a range between 85 g / km and 110 g / km for various brands. Then in 2025, a new CO2 target will be set, and it is said to be tougher.
The problem now is particularly weight loss and rising costs, both of which are expected to decrease in the next year. With the improvement in powertrain technology, BMW will simultaneously develop a lightweight and heavy-duty composite material, along with a significant improvement in aerodynamics.
The gasoline engine will be the front engine again, but again, it will only generate electricity. The point here is that the 2022 BMW 3 Series will be very different from the third series that you see for sale at home and abroad.
Most likely, the “35up” or CLAR architecture is the one referenced by BMW. The new platform is lightweight and modular, making it possible to make all 3 Series cars the pinnacle of plug-in hybrids. The new hybrid powertrain uses two electric motors, one in the rear axle and the other directly behind the engine.
The large battery pack is located in the central tunnel with a front-combustion engine that acts as a generator in most driving situations.

The front electric motor is key to the new powertrain because in normal use, the front wheels are driven by another new type of transmission. At speeds of over 50 mph or more, the engine “helps” the electric motors by attaching itself to a new transmission and helping to propel the front wheels at highway speeds.
BMW hasn’t revealed full details yet, but engineers are hinting that the combustion engine may only power the front wheels 10 percent of the time during normal driving. Engineers said this allowed them to run the engine on Lambda 1 up to 90 percent of the time, which resulted in increased fuel consumption.
With machines running less mechanical time, construction could be simpler and cheaper to build than today’s engines.
To maintain the Ultimate Driving Engine logo, BMW will offer a strict package under the car. Heavy batteries are placed low and in the center of the vehicle and the new alternator / engine is often installed lighter at the rear. So we hope to see the same exceptional 50-50 balance.
Autocar also says the new-generation BMW engine could drop the turbocharger and its associated intercooler system or the Valvetronic system, as torque will be largely supplied by two electric motors. That relationship becomes a less complex emission control system and a lighter engine, so it’s a lighter car.

The new transmission may have no more than three gear ratios and could be a mechanical planetary system. Since electrical range is the key to BMW electric vehicles, a larger battery pack is required. Fits perfectly into the space created by setting Propshaft and using smaller fuel tanks.
The rear differential can also be omitted, while the braking system can be smaller and lighter thanks to the braking force of the electric motor. It is expected that at least 100 kg will be shed from the next-to-next third-series hybrid.
This new hybrid powertrain delivers part-time, permanent four-wheel drive and can be expanded across all models from the 2022 BMW 3 Series to the X5 and even the Rolls Royce family.
The future of automobiles is changing, and the next decade will be important for the entire industry. Technology grows by leaps and bounds, changing the frontiers of the future for cars and new customers.
2022 BMW 3-Series EV
The highly anticipated 2022 BMW 3-Series EV is the brand’s latest model with an all-electric motor. It is just one of 25 all-electric models BMW plans to offer in the near future. Most of these models arrive as crossovers and SUVs. However, the 2022 BMW 3-Series EV is one of the most interesting models and is a sedan.
The first spy photos available and we had a chance to see a very interesting change of style. At the moment we don’t know exactly when this model will arrive. We hope to see the all-electric third series by the end of 2021. Here’s everything you need to know about this fantastic electric vehicle.
2022 BMW 3-Series EV Spy Screenshots, Dimensions
As we said, the 2022 BMW 3-Series EV prototype looks exciting. Although it wears heavy camouflage, most of the exterior parts are easy to spot. The design looks very simple, especially the front. BMW has chosen the kidney grille again, but this is just a cosmetic thing as the grille is already closed.
The rest of the front will not be different from the regular 3 Series. Rear exhaust pipes are absent in the test mule. This template will work on LWB architecture. Additionally, the 2022 BMW 3-Series EV will be 190.1 inches long.
2022 BMW 3-Series EV Spacious interior design
Inside, this new model will likely look similar to the rest of the lineup. The 2022 BMW 3-Series EV has a long wheelbase engineering. Thanks to it, the interior will be spacious. Unfortunately, the spy photos did not yield any internal details. The standard wheelbase model will also go on sale.
However, the long wheelbase provides 1.7 inches of extra legroom in the back. As far as the rest of the interior is concerned, the dashboard remains intact. This is a good thing as most customers are happy with the existing dashboard. Everything looks first class and the cabin design is sleek and modern.
2022 BMW 3-Series EV Performances
The all-new 2022 BMW 3-Series EV will be comparable in performance to the i4. We know the i4 will come with an 80kWh battery and produce 522hp. Acceleration from the numbers is not available, but the top speed is estimated at 120 mph.
This is 250 km / h according to BMW standards. The 3 Series EV offers roughly the same numbers, but the exact numbers are not yet available. As for range, the upcoming model will deliver over 250 miles on a single charge.
