Jeep is working extensively on its SUV lineup and recently we saw several updated models, including the one based on the Wrangler. The popular brand is also preparing for the new generation Grand Cherokee and thanks to spy photos and leaked details we have some insight into the model’s design and features. Jeep also announced the return of the Wagoner and Grand Wagoner panels, and two 2021 models could appear to compete with other luxury full-size SUVs.

While the new Cherokee crawfish should grow in size and provide a three-row configuration, the Jeep lacks a comfortable third-row model and massive cargo capacity. The large three-class SUV has recently improved its position in the market, and the arrival of GM’s updated SUVs should increase sales. With the new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, Jeep is also getting a slice of this growing market.

Based on what we know so far and what we expect, the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer should share the platform with the latest Ram 1500 and with some of its powertrains. Jeep also promised a hybrid version of two new large cars. Models should also be equipped with the latest technology and safety systems from the brand, which also provide many premium comfort features.

2021 Jeep Wagoneer lines

Jeep has also not talked about the powertrain options that will be available with the new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer. However, there should be V-6 and V-8 units, a mild hybrid system, and possibly a diesel unit and plug-in hybrids.

2021 Jeep Wagoneer Redesign

The new full-size 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and the larger Grand Wagoneer will be the new SUV alternative to premium models such as the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and the Infiniti QX80. The Wagoneer is believed to be a Jeep competitor to the mentioned models with the standard wheelbase, while the Gran Wagoner should go against the extended wheelbase versions.

For the platform, Wagoneer should use the lightweight construction of the latest generation, the Ram 1500 light-duty pickup truck. The Ram 1500 prototype was recently spotted on the road, but the independent rear suspension indicates Jeep is testing the new 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. An independent rear suspension provides more rear row comfort and ride quality compared to a rotating rear axle.

While the Jeep Grand Cherokee was recently discovered in the prototype indicating evolutionary changes in design, the Wagoner has yet to be spotted with the production bodywork.
