The Italians are true masters of the small car industry, and this refers to pickups. We’re about to see one in the near future, in the form of the 2021 Fiat Mobi Pickup. This will be a brand new model and as you might think it will be based on the Mobi Hatchback. The compact hatch has been around for a few years now and sells well in South America. When it comes to the range of propulsion systems, we don’t expect surprises, but rather familiar engine options. Most likely, the base versions will offer a 1.0-liter unit that delivers around 75 horsepower and 72 pounds of torque. There’s also a 1.4-liter engine with a maximum output of 87 horsepower and 90 pound-feet of torque. We might also see a 1.8-liter unit in the range, which delivers up to 130 hp.

All three units are gasoline engines, but all three units also have something called Flexi Fuel technology, which means they can also run on ethanol. In all three cases, we rely on a five-speed manual gearbox. Most likely, the Italian automaker is sticking to the FWD format, while all-wheel drive doesn’t seem very likely.

However, we can assume that the Mobi hatchback will serve as the basis and the additional construction will do everything to make this car appear much more rough. 2021 Fiat Mobi Pickup Interior Design

When it comes to interior design, we expect the cabin design to be quite similar to Moby. This especially refers to the dashboard, which is more practical than elegant. The overall quality is not great, but bear in mind that this model is designed for the South American market where reasonable price is the most important factor. Don’t expect to see many tech features in this pickup truck. As we have said, single and double cab models are to be expected. In the case of the double cab models, given the vehicle’s size, you can certainly expect an impressive amount of legroom in the second row.

2021 Fiat Mobi Pickup release date and price

The new truck is in the final development phase and we expect it to be ready for its second year of production. When it comes to price, we expect the base models to come in at 56-57,000 BRL, which translates into dollars of around $ 13,500. The main competitors are models like Chevy Montana and VW Saveiro.
